🥝 The Story

G'day, I'm the
Flying Kiwi

A solo Kiwi digital nomad on a mission to find the best street food across Asia

Flying Kiwi portrait

The Short Version

I left New Zealand with a backpack, a camera, and an insatiable appetite for street food.

What started as a gap year turned into a lifestyle. Now I spend my days hunting down the best hole-in-the-wall eateries, night market stalls, and local favorites that most tourists never find.

I document everything on YouTube and Twitch - the good, the questionable, and the "I can't believe I just ate that." Every bowl of noodles has a story, and I'm here to tell it.

Frequently Asked

Why "Flying Kiwi"?

Kiwis are flightless birds, but this one got a passport. The irony isn't lost on me - a bird that can't fly travelling the world. Plus it sounds better than "Walking Kiwi."

How do you afford this?

Remote work, YouTube/Twitch revenue, and eating $2 street food instead of $20 restaurant meals. Southeast Asia is surprisingly affordable if you live local.

Do you ever get sick?

Occasionally. But after 3 years, my gut is basically invincible. The secret? Eat where locals eat, watch the turnover, and trust the busy stalls.

What's the best food you've had?

Impossible to answer. But a bowl of boat noodles in Bangkok at 2am after a night market stream? That hit different. Check the blog for my actual favorites.
